Transcription of Listeria monocytogenes Key Virulence Genes on Tomato, Cucumber and Carrot

نویسندگان

چکیده

The aim of the present study was to assess transcription Listeria monocytogenes key virulence genes, namely sigB, prfA, hly, plcA, plcB, inlA, inlB, inlC and inlJ during subsistence on surface tomato, cucumber carrot stored at 4, 10 30 °C for 0, 0.5, 6 24 h. Gene relative assessed through reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). results obtained, indicated that plcB inlB more affected whereas inlA tomato surface. Subsistence pathogen had only marginal effect genes in study. In majority cases, aforementioned effects were dependent storage temperature employed.

L-glutamine Induces Expression of Listeria monocytogenes Virulence Genes

The high environmental adaptability of bacteria is contingent upon their ability to sense changes in their surroundings. Bacterial pathogen entry into host poses an abrupt and dramatic environmental change, during which successful pathogens gauge multiple parameters that signal host localization. The facultative human pathogen Listeria monocytogenes flourishes in soil, water and food, and in ~5...

Virulence testing of Listeria monocytogenes.

A major problem in understanding foodborne listeriosis from both the basic science and regulatory perspectives revolves around the role played by virulence factors of Listeria monocytogenes and how these interact with host susceptibility to result in the observed incidence of disease. From a mechanistic perspective, this problem has been well investigated, and many virulence components of L. mo...

Influence of sublethal concentrations of common disinfectants on expression of virulence genes in Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes is a food-borne human pathogen that causes listeriosis, a relatively rare infection with a high fatality rate. The regulation of virulence gene expression is influenced by several environmental factors, and the aim of the present study was to determine how disinfectants used routinely in the food industry affect the expression of different virulence genes in L. monocytoge...

Biosynthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and its Inhibitory Effect on Growth and Virulence of Listeria monocytogenes

Background: Biosynthesis of nanoparticles using microorganisms, enzymes, and plant extracts is regarded as an alternative to chemical methods. Microalgae appear to be an efficient biological platform for nanoparticle synthesis as they grow rapidly and produce large biomass at lower cost. Objectives: The possibility of silver nanoparticles biosynthesisby freshwater green microalgae, Chlamydomona...

Investigating the prevalence of resistance genes in Listeria monocytogenes isolated from food and clinical samples

Background: Listeriosis can be fatal for vulnerable groups of society. The disease has been widespread in recent years due to the large consumption of dairy and meat products. There is little information about the susceptibility of antibiotics and the pattern of Listeria monostigenesis gene resistance in Iranian society. Accordingly, the present study was conducted to investigate the antibiotic...
